“Student voice is the road to change.”
At Thorpedene Primary School, we believe that every child has the right to have their voice heard. Through a successful School Council, this aim is possible. Thorpedene’s School Council is comprised of dedicated, well-mannered and organised individuals, who care about positively sharing the school’s ethos. Through hard work and determination, positive changes are delivered to the school environment, teaching and learning and how the school is perceived by the community.
Thorpedene School Council exists to create a better school environment, with support from the Head Teacher, staff and students of the school. The School Council will represent the views of students on matters of importance and concern to them. They will act as ambassadors for their peers and work to liaise between staff, students, parents and the local community in order to achieve their goals. The School Council will work alongside staff and fellow students to further improve the learning taking place at Thorpedene and will strive to ensure that the curriculum is fun and engaging for the students across the school.

Hi, we are the Digital Leaders at Thorpedene. We were selected by our teachers to take on this responsibility and are now working alongside Miss Nicholson to help everyone with computers and laptops.
We help everyone with the SMART rules (Be Safe, Don’t Meet, Accepting emails from strangers can be dangerous, knowing what is really Reliable and to Tell someone if you’re unhappy). We make sure all pupils and staff members understand E-Safety. If they have any questions, from how to keep their information private to knowing what different keyboard keys are used for, we will always be willing to answer them.
We also run a weekly Computer Club for years 3 & 4 on a Tuesday lunchtime in the ICT suite.
